What is Hydroponics?

All you need to know about Hydroponic System.

Hydroponics is a production method where the plants are grown in a nutrient solution or inside the moist inert material like rockwool and vermiculite rather than in soil. Over the past few years, several variations to the basic system have been developed.

Hydroponics operates under a very simple principle: provide plants exactly what they need when they need it. Hydroponics administer nutrient solutions tailored to the needs of the particular plant being grown.

Many types of plants grow well hydroponically. Some of the best plants to grow in a hydroponics system include herbs, lettuce and greens, Tomatoes and bell peppers. Based on the crop the type of hydroponics system is selected.

Why Hydroponic is the future of farming?

ADVANTAGES OF HYDROPONICS

  • An extended growing season

In a hydroponics system, plants can be grown hydroponically year-round because the grower controls the temperature, light, and nutrient-supply. For leafy we can get Multiple crop cycles all around the year.

  • Improved growth and yield

Hydroponics systems typically result in faster-growing, higher-yielding plants. This is likely due to the increased oxygen levels found in the nutrient solution and the carefully controlled environmental factors. By increasing a plant’s oxygen levels, you stimulate root growth and enhance nutrient uptake. These optimal growing conditions equate to less stress on plants and a more bountiful harvest.

  • Higher plant density

Plants grown in soil have rigid spacing guidelines that must be followed to allow each plant equal access to the soil’s somewhat limited supply of water and nutrients. Because hydroponics systems deliver a more nutrient-charged solution to the root zone, plants can be grown closer together without competing for root space.

  • Can grow anywhere

Unlike traditional gardens that require outdoor space for plants, hydroponics systems are easily incorporated into many homes, regardless of their size or location.

  • Less water consumption

Even though hydroponic systems depend primarily on water to grow plants; they use between 80 to 90% less water than plants grown in the ground.

  • Fewer pest problems

Because hydroponics systems are indoors, pests aren’t as prevalent and have controlled entrances. Insects find it more challenging to infiltrate the system and attack plants. Plus, fewer pest problems mean little to no need for pesticides.

  • Easier to harvest mature plants

Plants grown in hydroponics systems are typically grown on counters, benches, tables, etc., which puts them at waist height for most growers. At this height, mature plants are easier to harvest.

  • Modular design

Nutrient film technique systems are perfect for large-scale and commercial endeavors. Once you have one channel set up and functioning, it is very easy to expand.

TYPES OF HYDROPONICS

Deep water
culture systems

Deep water culture hydroponics are simply plants suspended in aerated water. Deep water culture systems, also known as a DWC system, are one of the easiest methods of hydroponics on the market. A DWC system dangles net pots holding plants over a deep reservoir of oxygen-rich nutrient solution. The plant’s roots are submerged in the solution, providing it with perpetual access to nutrition, water, and oxygen.

Nutrient film
technique systems

Nutrient film technique (NFT) systems suspend plants above a stream of continuously flowing nutrient solution that washes over the ends of the plant’s root systems. NFT is the most widely used hydroponics technique for commercial hydroponics. The channels holding the plants are tilted, allowing water to run down the length of the grow tray before draining into the reservoir below. A submersible pump then pumps the nutrient-rich water out of the reservoir and back to the top of the channel.

Dutch Bucket
Grow System

A Dutch bucket, or Bato bucket, is a hydroponic system in which two or more growing containers are connected to the same irrigation and drainage lines. This is an incredibly water- and nutrient-efficient method, ideal for growing heavy-feeding and vining plants like tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants.

Aeroponic
System

Aeroponics systems suspend plants in the air and expose the naked roots to a nutrient-filled mist. Aeroponics systems are enclosed frameworks, like cubes or towers, that can hold a multitude of plants at once. Water and nutrients are stored in a reservoir, and then pumped to a nozzle that atomizes the solution and distributes it as a fine mist. Aeroponics systems use less water than any other form of hydroponics.

What to Expect

The location of the hydroponics project is very important . The land should have proper access to water, electricity , power backup and a connectivity to market. Agriplast does site survey before starting the project and gives the insight of project feasibility.
We are the only few companies in India who provides hydroponics and greenhouse structure manufacturing together. No third party is involved for structure fabrication. This ensure all quality work with on time project completion and unmatched service support with accountability.
We are the channel partner with Industry leaders auto grow New Zealand for hydroponics set up automation System.
Greenhouse structure of the hydroponic farm provides a protected environment for the crops. Two type of greenhouse is mainly used for hydroponics project . one is Naturally ventilated polyhouse and second is Fan & Pad polyhouse type. We do a complete weather data analysis to select the right Greenhouse structure for the project.
The selection of The growing system depends on the type of crop you want to grow in the farm. NFT system is suitable for Leafy crops like lettuce, kale, Rocket , Spinach and basil for vine crops like tomato and cucumber, the Dutch bucket system or grow bag system is suitable.
A good climate control system is required for automatic operation of greenhouse equipments to get best climate possible for the plants. Climate control system can be selected basic system to IOT system. Agriplast have its own manufacturing of Climate control system and also is the channel partner of PRIVA Holland to provide best system to its client.
Nutrient dosing system is most crucial item in hydroponics farm. As In hydroponics we don’t use soil so Nutrient mixing with water should be accurate and monitored continuously. We are the channel partner with Auto grow New Zealand to provide best dosing system to all our hydroponics farm.
Agriplast gives proper training to each of its client at his own farm to make sure that client ground staff gets proper knowledge and operations of their hydroponic farm and will be able to do, day to day activities at the farm. Our services include complete agronomist support which includes recipe making as well.

Why Choose Agriplast Hydroponics

Custom System and Consulting

Our Each project is tailored made for customer as per his requirement with best industry practices. We specialize in recirculating, sustainable hydroponic turnkey projects.

Inhouse Manufacturing Facility

We are the only company in India who provides hydroponics and polyhouse structure all together . No third party is involved for structure part. Which ensure all quality work with on time project completion and unmatched service support.

THIRD GENERATION NFT CHANNEL

Compared with round pipe and square pipe, we only need much less water to the vegetables. What's more, water will only flow in Centre part with our channel, while it may go sides with flat bottom channel from other suppliers.

Slope Adjuster table

Uniform slope of the NFT channels is very important in hydroponics as with uniform slope all plants get similar nutrient flow in the roots.
Agriplast tables can be adjusted by simply moving a nobe attached to the tables each column.

Completely Food Grade

Right from NFT channels, Nutrient supply & drain pipe and head unit's fittings are made of uPVC material which is food Grade, heavy metal free.

In house Experts

Agriplast has Inhouse Designers , Structural, Electrical and software engineers and Agronomist with collective 50+ year of experience to ensure the best project execution and unmatched service support to our clients.

BEST AUTOMATION

We provide best automation system in the industry to our all-hydroponics project.
Our automation system monitor and control all important parameters of the hydroponics set up. Using the IOT technology complete system can be accessed via Computer , tablet or smartphone.
We are the channel partner with Industry auto grow New Zealand for hydroponics set up automation System.

EBB & FLOW NURSERY

Agriplast uses ebb and flow technology for the nursery of the plants. Ebb and flow gives best results as each net pot get same uniform water and nutrient.
After certain weeks Net pot directly can be shifted from Ebb and Flow to NFT system and ready for next lot.
Ebb and flow has separate circulation pumps and tank than NFT system which makes nutrient management easy and efficient.
